Hello/Intro lrg biz #1Return to index of stories... |
Hello. I'm Beth Carroll. Welcome to New Hampshire Outlook. Ever wonder if you work for one of the "best" companies in the state? Each year, "Business New Hampshire Magazine" picks its top 10! The 2004 list included companies from all regions of the state and different types of businesses, from healthcare to manufacturing. 6 "new" companies made the list-- which is broken down into the best LARGE and SMALL companies. Here's a look at the top Large companies: Number one: Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, -- which made the list for the third time. Followed by Markem Corporation in Keene, C-C-A Global Partners in Manchester, Teradyne Incorporated Connection Systems Division out of Nashua, Comcast Cable Communications out of Manchester and rounding out the top large companies, Wheelabrator Technologies in Hampton. As for the top small companies: High Point Communications in Bow is number one, also on the list for a 3rd time. Followed by PixelMedia of Portsmouth, Woodlands Credit Union in Berlin and All Metals Industries in Belmont. Businesses from across New Hampshire submit applications to the magazine for selection. |

The Loyalty Factor Seminars seem to be paying off for APRISMA. A 2004 Survey showed 98-percent of its customers "satisfied" or very satisfied with the company. Fabiaschi hopes THAT translates into customer retention. Aprisma is now a unit of Concord Communications. The Acquisition was finalized in February 2004. |

We turn now to "Made in New Hampshire"-- our series which profiles businesses and individuals producing goods in the state. A Newmarket woman launched her homemade organic dog treat business in 2003. Nini Casey was inspired by her dog's death. Photo-journalist Steve Giordani brings us the story of "Rods Pawz." |

In February, Casey began outsourcing two-thirds of her baking to a local bakery in Newmarket. Her kitchen just couldn't handle the producation load. Casey insists on keeping her recipe secret so she pre-mixes the dry ingredients and then brings them to the bakery.
